Preamble

Hey there everyone!

Turns out today marks the day that we released A Date for the Ages to the public. We dang near missed the date, which is why the timing of the sale is a little weird. 

It's crazy how a whole year has flown by (for me at the very least).

I've learned so much from releasing this game. I once had lofty goals of achieving mass success in a matter of months after release. Boy-howdy has reality played out much different... Don't get me wrong, I am proud of our achievements with DFTA. On itch alone we've almost broken 10k downloads (99% are for the free base version), and we have over 40k thousand browser plays. 

Despite these numbers, Digital Decadence is far from a mass success. Damn it. The biggest thing I've learned this year is that for most NSFW developers, becoming successful is a bitter, all-consuming grind. It can leave you drained with little to show for it. Competing with AI generated content has not made the process more enjoyable.

But despite all that, I still enjoy what I do and am determined to press onwards toward global domination via my studio. Yes we've had some hard-knocks but we have also had some.... Not(?)-hard knocks. 

We've learned much. And through those lessons we will make better games. And through these better games, we will achieve mass success. Patience is key. And knowledge. And marketing skills. Maybe a wee bit of luck. AND PASSION! That's pretty important too. Smut with no soul is just... sad.

Perhaps the most key thing of all keys is to learn, improve, and stay positive.

Art in Review

Looking back on some of my work, I feel like I've improved a fair bit in the artistic department.

Artistic enlightenment is a journey with no end. I look forward to the next year of improving my skills and making more sexy stuff!
